Jobs

Jack means jobs—the next administration must create incentives for business to come to New Hampshire and STAY here. Increasing taxes and fees on New Hampshire’s small businesses is creating a competitive disadvantage. Economists and business owners alike agree, New Hampshire business taxes are stifling economic growth, which in turn is stunting the growth of jobs.

New Hampshire has some of the highest corporate business taxes in America. Businesses can only pay so much before they have to pass along those expenses to customers. Additionally, this threatens businesses ability to pay for employees and employee benefits such as health insurance and pay raises. Most disturbingly, New Hampshire for the first time in decades is a less desirable place for start up companies and entrepreneurs than Massachusetts and Connecticut. Loss of population has already begun and loss of current and potential jobs is guaranteed if the current administration’s relentless attacks on New Hampshire’s wealth and business environment are not reversed.

The new administration should also focus on promoting new job industries. There is a great opportunity in New Hampshire to capitalize on expanding energy independence, both environmentally and economically—and this means jobs, particularly in the resource rich North Country.

As a small businessman, Jack Kimball knows how to promote job growth.
